The Highland Dirk
From Art Pewter Silver Ltd of Glasgow we have received their new design, a single traditional style Highland Dirk featuring thistle details to the handle and mounts, a Stainless Steel blade and a black leather sheath.
The Highland Dirk (Gaelic "Biodag") evolved from a popular Renaissance era knife known as the Ballock dagger and has been in continuous use and wear since the early 1600's. The Dirk is still considered high fashion to wear as part of Highland Dress to a formal occasion.

Overall Length: 18 inches or 46 cm (approximately).
The stone on the handle is available on order in six colours:

A magnificent presentation box is included which makes this Highland Dirk ideal as an extra special gift.
Sgian Dubhs
The Sgian Dubh ("black knife") takes its name from the use of the word "black" meaning secret or covert as in "blackmail"; invariably hidden, a concealed weapon of last resort, only to be exhibited in the presence of a host out of courtesy, and thus placed in the wearer's hose in an obvious position.
We have good supplies of Sgian Dubhs in stock.
